TIPS FOR USING A TOILET
WHILE WILD CAMPING
From April 15th to September 15th, open fires are
generally prohibited in Norway. However, it is still
possible to light a bonfire during this period if it is done in
a location where there is no risk of starting a wildfire, such
as in snowy patches or after prolonged periods of rain. It is
advisable to use approved fire pits, as lighting fires in
open country during this time is not permitted.
When using the toilet in nature, it's important to
follow the Leave No Trace principles:
1 Choose a location at least 200 feet (70 adult steps) from
water sources, trails, and campsites
2
Dig a small hole 6-8 inches deep with a trowel or stick
3 Do your business in the hole
4 Cover the hole with soil and natural materials like leaves
or twigs
5 Pack out used toilet paper or bury it in the hole.
Remember to respect the environment and leave it as
you found it.
