A lot of mattresses have cotton pesticides, glue solvents, and flame-
retardant chemicals. Some memory foam models have been found to emit
61 chemicals, including the carcinogens benzene and naphthalene. When
it comes to a choice of your mattress spend time investigating it. What is
the mattress made of, how does it smell, and what skin reactions do you
get when touching it? Sheets made with formaldehyde, which includes all
permanent-press sheets, are also shown to cause insomnia. Invest in
high-quality organic cotton bedding that can absorb sweat and toxins
that you release overnight.
9 Reduce EMF exposure
A further factor affecting people's sleep quality is their exposure to EMF.
Most electrical devices and house wiring in our homes today emit
ElectroMagnetic Frequencies (EMFs) composed of electrical and magnetic
fields ranging from low-frequency (LF) devices such as appliances and
mains wiring to high-frequency radios and mobile phones/cell towers to
microwave frequencies such as WiFi, 5G, and radars.
Cellphones, notebooks, PCs, TVs, hubs, smartmeters, and many other
gadgets constantly send out EMF transmissions to each other and cell
towers, even at night when you're not actively using them.
Such cumulative exposure of this electromagnetic radiation from all these
devices has a significant effect on any biological body and results in
micro-contractions of the cells all night long, which doesn't allow the cells
to enter the normal parasympathetic state that allows the body's cells to
detoxify, repair and regenerate.
