Why did you and your partners choose to
develop in the city of Des Moines, WA?

I have always felt that Des Moines is a city
that can be a hidden gem. With the right
people running this city it can and will be
a very special place.

What are the most valuable lessons that
investing in real estate has taught you?

Patience, not just with this project but all
of my projects. In real estate you have to
play the long game. Making emotional
decisions increases the chances of a
project not living up to expectations. But
understand that an emotional decision is
very different than putting passion into
the project. If you don’t have passion for
your project/investment then you should
probably pass on that opportunity.

Do you see any similarities between your
time in the NBA and your business ventures
in real estate?

Absolutely, you just have to do the work.
There are no shortcuts, most times in life
if you do the work and pay attention to
the details then things will eventually work

What is it like working with Andy? Any funny your morning routine will consistently If you do the

Andy is as professional as it gets. The everybody’s routine can get derailed. The attention to the
interesting part of working with Andy is key for me is to see how long can I stay
our ability to grow together. He wasn’t just on task, how long before kids, work, details then
an investor that told me what to do. We people visiting from out of town,
work together in deciding the best course whatever the reason your day can get things will
of action moving forward. The funniest derailed. By owning your morning every eventually
story is when we got together and played day you start the day off on the right foot
tennis, and as nice as Andy is he didn’t every day. Then life happens and you can work out
