PERSONAL PRACTICE

Consider where in your home you can consistently practice. Aim to

pick a place you will return to daily where you can have some quiet,
uninterrupted time. You might choose to light a candle, light some

incense, or even turn on a dim light as a physical way to ritualize the

            opening of your practice.

Aim to practice at the same time every day. Each of our

circumstances will differ, but it is often easiest for us to have space

for this time upon waking, or before hopping into bed.

Set a timer. If you’re using your phone, let it be part of your practice

to not open any other apps except for your timer as you get started.

If you’re able to use a timer other than your phone, even better!

Once you’ve settled in, check in with your posture. Whatever

happens or doesn’t happen, Pema Chödrön reminds us it’s “no big

deal”! Continue to cultivate the attitude of “no big deal”.

Six points of posture quick guide:

                                     Seat Eyes

                                     Hands Face

                                     Torso Legs

“Meditation practice isn’t about trying to throw ourselves away &

become something better. It’s about befriending who we are already.”
