SPRING

Lofoten reawakens during the

transition from February to March, with
plenty of action and events taking
place. The sea bustles with fishing

boats trying to catch arctic cod,
creating a lively atmosphere in the
ocean and harbors. Winter and spring

intermingle, making it challenging to
determine when the winter season
ends.

As spring nears its end, one can

experience a unique opportunity of
skiing down the mountain slopes Spring in Reine Village
under the midnight sun, all while wea-

-ring shorts and a t-shirt. This is an excellent time to visit Lofoten if you
want to avoid crowds and enjoy a blend of different seasons.

Hiking trails may not be accessible until the end of April due to heavy
snowfall, and skis or snowshoes may be necessary. Trails in the west of

Lofoten, specifically Vestvågøy, may open earlier due to less snowfall.
