RECOMMENDED INITIATIVES

Governance. This category evaluates a company's impact, mission and transparency, and how the governance
structure engages stakeholders in decision-making. As expected, Chicago Market scored well because of
its cooperative governance structure. The primary opportunity for achieving additional points is identifying
material risks and establishing and tracking impact metrics. These needs could be addressed by a typical
Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) assessment.

Workers. This category evaluates how a company supports and benefits employees' wellness, financial
security, and career satisfaction. Chicago Market scored very well in this category, with one exception.
Significant points in this category are allocated based on the percentage of the company that is employee-
owned. Although employees of Chicago Market can be owners, as a democratic cooperative, they cannot
own any more stakes than a typical owner, limiting the potential for additional points here.

Community. How a company engages the communities it operates in, and sources from, determines the
Community score. Topics include diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI), economic impact, and supply chain
management. Chicago Market has the vision and intent to perform highly in this category. However, the
co-op will need to begin tracking more demographic and supply chain information to be eligible to maximize
            point potential.
