NOT KEEPING YOUR
WORD TO YOURSELF
Another way you might self-betray is by not keeping your word to yourself.
When you make a promise to yourself but you don't keep it, then you
sabotage your own goals and desires. Essentially, you tell yourself, "what
you want isn't important." If you don't value your own word, then you
won't achieve what you reach for.
This can be a very painful form of self-betrayal. When you don't feel like
you can trust your word to yourself, it can leave you feeling alone and
unimportant.
Self-Check-In
1.How strong do you feel in your ability to keep your word to yourself? Do you
ever break your word to yourself?
2. If applicable, give an example of a recent time you broke your word to
yourself. How did you feel as a result?
