P. 18

The good news? Attachment styles can change. That’s literally what this entire book is about.

Maybe you’re mostly anxious but have moments of security. Maybe you’re avoidant in romantic relation-
ships but secure with friends. Maybe your style shifts depending on who you’re with.

That’s all normal. The goal isn’t to label yourself and call it a day. The goal is to understand your patterns
so you can start shifting them toward more security—one interaction at a time.

In the chapters ahead, we’ll dig deeper into each attachment style, with special focus on your primary
pattern. We’ll look at where these styles come from, how they show up in modern dating contexts, and
most importantly, how to heal them.

For now, just hold your quiz results lightly. Notice if you feel any shame or judgment about your an-
swers—that’s normal too. But remember: Your attachment style isn’t who you are. It’s just how you’ve
          learned to connect.
And you can learn new ways.

          Let’s do this.
